Increment-1: Making way for Tower-II at Children's Hospital of Orange County. Prime Contractor, Aman Environmental Construction (Aman), performed the demolition of a 7-story Medical Office Building (MOB) and the removal of an associated 2-level parking garage located in the City of Orange, CA.

Work included:

  • Isolation and demolition of a pedestrian bridge providing access to the south campus over La Veta and removing an 8-story stairway from the exterior of Tower-1
  • Abatement of Asbestos Containing and removal of all Regulated Building Materials
  • Designing and execution of Traffic Management and Controls
  • Site Security and fencings
  • Major tasks: Interface with public agencies and obtain required permits. Safe-off of existing utility systems, telecommunications, fire sprinklers, and storm drain lines. Providing as-builts, surveying of existing site conditions and implementation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
  • For safety to the public, Aman provide a number of pedestrian walk covers and barricades. Installed new guard rails on 3-levels of the existing 5-story parking garage, placed scaffolding full height of the MOB – which protected workers and the public, the draped scaffold help control dust, while protecting the environment.
  • Waste Management: 85% of all demolished materials were diverted for recycling.
